Hawkins-Gignac Foundation 365 Safety Campaign
The Hawkins-Gignac Foundation 365 Safety Campaign
CO & Smoke or Fire Incidents do not take Vacations. EVER!
Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, home safety from CO and fire and smoke is a 365-day-a-year effort. Please check all your smoke and CO alarms and replace any that need it.
Together we can end the silence.
CO Awareness Week:
To celebrate Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week 2024 (Nov. 1–7), The Hawkins-Gignac Foundation donated 300 CO alarms — 100 each — to Charlottetown Fire Department (Nov. 4), Moncton Fire Department (Nov. 5), and Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (Nov. 6). The Foundation visited each city to speak about CO dangers and how to protect families.
Each event on the Atlantic Canada CO Education Tour featured fire services, school children, dignitaries, media, and members of the public. In addition to the alarms, the Foundation distributed hundreds of educational brochures and Rick the CO Safety Ranger colouring books for kids.
The tour was funded in part by Health Canada, Insurance Bureau of Canada, and Murphy Hospitality Group.

Where We’ve Been:
Over the years, we have traveled to every province and territory in Canada, every major city and more small towns that we can list. We’ve spoken to groups, at events, at fire halls, in legislatures, at schools, to the media and knocked on doors.
